Photo & Content Removal Policy (Notice and Takedown)
1. About this policy
Splashtemp (splashtemp.ca) is a Canadian initiative that publishes information about public swimming facilities. This policy describes how owners of copyright and other rights may ask us to remove or correct content published on this website.
2. Third-party images
Some images on this website are obtained from publicly accessible third-party websites, including the websites of facility operators, municipalities, tourism organisations and other public sources. Each such image is credited to its apparent source and linked to the page where it was found. Where an image is marked “used without licence”, no licence has been obtained from the rights holder. Splashtemp does not claim ownership of third-party images, and all rights remain with their respective owners.
3. Requests for removal or correction
If you are the owner of copyright in, or are authorised to act on behalf of the owner of, any image or other content on this website, and you object to its use, or if a credit or attribution is inaccurate, you may request its removal or correction.
4. How to submit a request
Please submit your request using our contact form and select the “Photo: missing, wrong, or removal request” topic:
5. Information to include
- The URL of each page on splashtemp.ca where the content appears;
- Identification of the image or content concerned (for example, a description or a copy of the image);
- Your name and contact information;
- A statement that you own the rights in the content, or are authorised to act on behalf of the owner, together with reasonable evidence of those rights; and
- Whether you are requesting removal or correction of a credit, and, for a correction, the credit you wish to appear.
6. Our response
On receipt of a complete request, we will review it and, where appropriate, remove or correct the content within a reasonable time, normally within five (5) business days. We may contact you if further information is required. We may decline requests that are incomplete or that we reasonably believe to be unfounded.
7. Copyright Act (Canada)
Splashtemp respects the rights of copyright owners. This policy operates alongside, and does not limit, any rights or remedies available under the Copyright Act (Canada), including its notice-and-notice provisions where applicable.
8. No admission of liability
The removal or correction of any content in response to a request is made as a courtesy and does not constitute an admission of liability or an acknowledgement of the validity of any claim. Splashtemp reserves all rights and defences.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page.
